VOI-X    Day 3

Friday was our track day and everyone was excited to drive.

We boarded the bus early and headed out to Milan Dragway for breakfast and

the 1/4 mile runs, but Mother Nature decided to do some morning watering.  So in lieu

of doing hi-speed passes, we did some drifting on the skid pad.

After breakfast Gary and I helped ourselves to a comp coupe.  We tried hard to get the

SRT Engineer to let us take her out for a spin....but no such luck.

Cars started lining up to hit the skid pad.

Linda and Peter helped out as Official Judges

The Petty drivers took passengers out for some pretty exhilarating rides

Michael opted to just make smoke with his donut burnouts

Sadly, the drag strip never dried out for us to make any passes

After lunch, we headed out to the famed Chelsea Proving Grounds.....where cameras were strictly forbidden.  Oops

I'm not sure who took these pictures inside the Chelsea Proving Grounds.

After an incredibly fun day out at the track, we got cleaned up and headed over to Belle Isle.

We had a trackside hospitality tent set up with a buffet dinner.

The entire facility was closed to the public and I was lucky enough to get a private tour of the

entire grounds thanks to a very event coordinator and her golfcart.

\

She took Hanna and I all over the place, took our picture on the Winners Podium, and

gave us a VIP behind the scenes tour.

After dinner, Cindy Lux did a short talk.

Rumor had it that she took the first bus load of people for a ride around the track
