We have all been counting the days, anxiously waiting to make our
trip back to New York. SRT has done something really special for
VCA Members and sent out a special invitation to attend the new Gen V
Unveiling Party. A whole bunch of So Cal Members jumped on a plane
to take part in this historic event.
We landed at JFK and waited in the Taxi line
Manhattan skyline
First stop was Lombardi's Pizza ! Lombardi's first opened their doors in 1897 and has long
been famous for their fresh smoky crust pizza with fresh tomatoes and mozarella.
For dessert, we walked around the corner to Rice to Riches. They have an incredible selection
of flavored rice puddings. Nothing like this in LA.
DAY 2
We headed to Midtown to check out a few things
Bumper to bumper traffic everywhere
First stop Juilliard
1 Central Park West
Carnegie Hall
We met up with Dan/Cathy, Anthony/Wanda & George/Diane for world famous pastrami sandwiches.
The Plaza Hotel
Wanda and Anthony at Dylan's Candy Store
After a day up in Midtown, we went back to the hotel and dressed up for the Big Party
The Unveil Party was held at the Skylight SoHo
Everyone was lined up early and there was quite a buzz of anticipation
SRT went all out for this big party. There is no such thing as "open" space in Manhattan and very inch is at a premium. SRT had a great display out on the street.
The line kept growing and it was really fun to walk it and see so many friends.
The Skylight SoHo had a great ambience
Once we got inside, we were given personalized name badges and then were face to face with these veiled machines.
You could see some of the lines and the imagination was going into overload.
They had a full interior on display and it was getting a lot of attention
At the south end of this huge Social Hall, stuffed back against a wall
was the model that we were all got to see in Salt Lake City.
Those who saw it almost 2 years ago had the hardest time describing to those who didn't see it what it looked like. There really is no way to describe it, other than awesome.
As you can see, it is really close to the actual car and very little has changed over the 2 years.
Mike, Eddie and Dylan certainly liked it.
Kurt, Diane, and George were there representing the San Diego members
A very popular SRT spot for the evening.

Day 3
We woke up to clear blue skies and very light breezes. We jumped
in a cab and headed to the USS Intrepid where we met Mike, Cheryl,
Anhtuan and Scott
The museum was filled with some really cool displays, movie presentations and interactive things to check out
Up on the flight deck, they had a great variety of planes on display
We got a ride on the aircraft elevator which moved planes from one deck to the other.
Scott
Space monkeys
a big space monkey
After our visit on the Intrepid, we went to Katz Deli where we met up with Dan/Cathy, Scott/Jilian/Diane.
Katz had some really good food.
We took a walk through SoHo and checked out some of the sights.
Cool wall
New World Trade Center tower under construction
Had to try these.
Day 4
Another early start, but still had great weather. A tad bit colder but really nice out. We found our way to the subway and made our way to the Javits Center for the 2012 NY Auto Show.
We went straight to the SRT booth
The ALMS car was up on its perch
and they had really cool interior displays
But no Viper......Yet
There was a huge crowd waiting for the Vipers arrival and the buzz in the air was really cool.
More like a HUGE crowd
You could barely see the Viper as it made its way through the sea of people.
Lori, Kim, Cheryl and Melanie
Cousins
I have a black driver's suit......but she looks much better in hers.

The water pool was absolutely magnificent
We caught up with the AZ club in O'hara's
Along with Wanda, Cathy and Anthony
Our gang in front of O'Hara's
We managed to see quite a bit during our short trip to New York. It was really fun meeting
up with friends throughout the City, adding very special memories to our trip.
Of course seeing the Gen V Viper in the flesh was the frosting on top of the cake.
It is truly an amazing new Viper and I can't wait to get behind the wheel of one.
