The Vipers beat the Corvettes last March in the Charity Auto-x which is sponsored by

Jessup Chevrolet and the Palm Springs Corvette Club.  It was time for the rematch so we headed

out to Indio and help support 2 great charities: ALS Lou Gehrigs Disease and the Cathedral

City Boys and Girls Club.

A handful of made the trip out on Friday and took advantage

of the Resort at Fantasy Springs.  We had 16 people for dinner which was a lot of fun.

Some got their gambling fix, while the others enjoyed a drink up in the lounge.

The next morning, we were greeted with beautiful blue skies, a perfect 70 degrees and a light breeze

We got all our car #'s on and mentally prepared ourselves for the challenge to come.

Shawn was there waiting for us when we arrived.

We held the Championship Trophy for the year

Anthony made a small modification to it before we handed it back to the scorers table.

Anthony and Jack.   Jack is one heck of a fun guy and gave us a real run for the money last year in

his Corvette.  He was pumped up and I knew we were in for a close battle.

With the American flag flying proudly and the National Anthem being played over the loudspeaker,

it was a very fitting way to start the day as 2 great American cars got ready to clash.

Turns out an old friend and client of mine for over 20 years was on the Corvette team.

Justin was holding class with Eddie and Ben, giving them last minute driving instructions.

This beautiful brand new ZR-1 lead the pace lap with Dan Jessup driving.

Ben was the defending Champ from last year and was the first to hit the cone course

Jack was right on his heels and ready to take us down.

As the competition drew to a close, Dan had once last run and secured the win for the Vipers

with the fastest time of the day for the Vipers and Corvettes with a 42.809 .    Great driving Dan !

This Corvette was on rails and kept setting low time which was making us sweat.

Out for a joy ride

Anthony wants to know who won?

Viper vs Vette

A quick lunch break for all the volunteers that were working hard out in the sun while we played.

Thank you all !

The anticipation was building as we all waited for the results

Shawn Hyman.....and the winner of the 2013 Viper vs Vette challenge is............

Team Viper !!!  Dan, Eddie, Derek, Ben and Anthony had the 5 fastest time to make up our low score.

Great driving guys !!!

From there we headed off for our victory lunch at the world famous Jackelope Ranch.

It was a really cool place to have lunch

As you can see by all the smiles, EVERYONE had a great time.  We will need another great showing

next year when we go back and defend.  So practice up and make sure you don't miss this event

next year.
